Rob Sanwald Jr.
I am a Wenatchee native. Born and raised here in the Wenatchee valley and I love calling it my home. I believe that we have an amazing backyard to play in here. Whether its getting down to the river or going up in the mountains, we are blessed to have it all so close to us to go play in! My journey of cleaning carpets began when I was 10 years old. Dad would ask the four of us kids which of us wanted to come and work with him and he would tell us that we could stop at Western Market for a candy bar after the jobs. So I eagerly volunteered! Little did I know that he would buy each of us a candy bar at the end of the day! But in that time working with my dad, especially in the summer times after school got out, I just loved to get to know him and watch him interact with and care for his customers. So much so that when I finished my schooling, I knew this was the only place I wanted to be. I love this business with my whole heart, I love that I get to do it with my family and I love building relationships with our customers and giving them clean carpets and clean homes. Its a very rewarding business!
Karen Sanwald
Building Care has been a part of my life since 1974 when my family moved to Wenatchee. Over the years I have painted, washed windows with my brother Eric, done janitorial work among other thing. We worked hard but enjoyed so much of what this valley offers. Skiing, boating, hiking, etc. Then I met the man of my dreams, Rob Sanwald. He worked cleaning carpets as we started our family. I didn't want to work a 9 to 5 job and miss that time with my young children so I worked in the janitorial side of our business at night so I could make the kids lunches and be home when they came home from school. I grew to love having my time during the day so I have kept up with janitorial at night to this day. Over the years, especially when I was washing windows, I really enjoyed meeting people that I would never have encountered otherwise. Many of those customers have been a treasure in my life. My husband, Rob, who passed in 2022, worked hard over the years developing loyal customers who became friends. He always shared with me all the people he had met that day. So I felt I knew so many although when I met them in person, it was always a surprise because I would imagine them with long blond hair and they would be a short brown haired person! Even through the loss of my husband, it has been great to see my children come together and continue on with this business. So now its 3 generations of serving others and being blessed by them.
Greg Sanwald
I was born and raised in the Wenatchee Valley and I always loved it here but I wanted to see what else was out there. I lived in the Chicago area for a few years and started a family. We lived in the Chicago area for 7 years before deciding that it was not a place we wanted to raise our 4 girls. So we packed up and moved to the Coeur d'Alene area. I spent most of my 20's and 30's in the auto industry as a sales person and as a sales manager. In 2024 I moved back to Wenatchee and teamed up with Rob and Lori to run our families business. I have loved cleaning carpets and meeting and getting to know our customers. My favorite part is when they talk about my dad. I always knew he was special to me but I love hearing how much he meant to the people that he came into contact with. The most common thing said is "your dad was special". I know its true and it does my heart good to hear that it wasn't just me who thought so! I am excited to take the foundation that was laid and expand it to a new generation of customers in the Wenatchee Valley. We have so much to offer and I am excited that I get to be a part of it.
Lori Sanwald
I am fortunate to have been born and raised in the Wenatchee Valley. Work has taken me all over the west coast and adventure has taken me across the world and there is still no place like home, which is a quiet meadow near Stevens Pass. Adventure has been an important part of my life, starting with snowboards, skis, and bikes. Then it moved to paragliders and speed wings. Finally I trade all of that for a surfboard. My husband and I spent 12 winters in Hawaii surfing every day there was a swell. Sometimes we just sat on our boards in the ocean even when there weren't any waves! So thankful for all these adventures and opportunities to travel across the globe from Chamonix to Chile from glaciers to deserts, from rivers to oceans, lots of road trips and lots of amazing memories. But when my dad passed in 2022 it was time to come home and help my brother, Rob, with the family business. I had grown up helping dad clean carpets, but never had any passion for it. But as I came along side Rob, his passion for his work was contagious and I saw the heart behind Building Care Company that had begun with our dad and that Rob now carried. I fell in love with the work. Not only making a positive change in a customers carpet, but hopeful to make a positive change in their day as well.
What should I consider when choosing which carpet cleaning company to use?

Our machine uses the power of the vans V8 engine to maximize its heat, its water power and its suction. The higher heat loosens the soil from your carpet more thoroughly, the higher water pressure gets the water deeper into your fibers and the higher suction eliminates more moisture. This means cleaner carpets and faster dry times for you! We are a third generation company with over 50 years serving the Wenatchee Valley and surrounding areas. We are an IICRC certified carpet cleaning company. We have changed our cleaning methods over the years to match the best possible way to maximize our efficiency and our results in your home. Now we have upgraded our brand, our chemistry knowledge and our visibility to help you find us easier. The greatest lesson we have ever learned came from our dad, Rob Sanwald he taught us that more than anything else, people matter. Kindness, thoughtfulness and relationship mean more in business than any bottom line ever could. Our customers mean the world to us and we would like to thank all those who have been loyal customers and loyal friends over the years. We appreciate you! There is a lot in the name. It doesn't just mean caring for buildings or cleaning carpets. It means building care throughout our community wherever the Lord leads us. It's relationships, it's prayer, it's seeing and believing the best in the people we meet and it's the highest standards we bring in to every job. Because yes, we are working for you. But we are also working for our Father in Heaven. We are a Christian company and He is our foundation for everything that we do. As He has molded and changed us and given each of us new life and new identity, we have felt His calling to do the same for our business. Identity matters and Building Care Company is no exception. So we have given the logo a new look, the process we use has been updated to the highest quality methods and products available and the care for our customers remains paramount to everything that we do. Building Care Company is a third generation carpet and upholstery cleaning company. Our dad, Rob Sanwald along with our mom, Karen, ran Building Care Company from the late 1970's to the early 2020's. They have been amazing parents to the 4 of us and we are so excited to honor them by stewarding our business and our customers as well as they did! Thank you for the opportunity to serve you!
